Spring 2017 AGSL Registration is Open!

AGSL Family,

It's that time of year already, between trimming the tree and shopping at the mall, please sign up now for Spring AGSL softball.  As always, to make this a league a success we need volunteers, especially coaches.  Even if you have little to no experience, having an extra adult or teen sibling around means a lot.  If you have questions feel free to reach out to Brandon Creech, Holli McKinley or any of the AGSL board members.

Please register your player soon as space can be limited and having numbers early helps the league prepare for the upcoming season.

Have a happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing everyone in the spring!

PRIDE Year Round Program

The AGSL sponsors an 8U through 18U year round program known as PRIDE. PRIDE’s mission is to challenge players through skills training and practice, with a focus on effort and teamwork.  The PRIDE program is not intended to be a forum for every player.  This is a year round training program that is designed for those players who are dedicated to furthering their experience and developing their skills on a year round basis. The PRIDE program participates in county league double headers during the fall, spring and summer PRIDE seasons and at least two sanctioned tournaments during each of these seasons.  This program is intended to provide an additional level of play for qualified girls from the AGSL Spring House League.  PRIDE players must play in the AGSL House League during the fall and spring seasons. Additionally PRIDE players must have played at least two seasons of organized softball or have an AGSL coach’s recommendation to be eligible to play in the year round PRIDE program.  Tryouts are required.

Participation Requirements:

  • Be registered on a AGSL house team.

  • Have played at least 2 seasons of organized softball or have AGSL coach recommendation.

  • Play in tournaments when selected by PRIDE coaching staff (tryouts are required).

  • PRIDE coaches will conduct 1 additional practice during the fall and spring AGSL house seasons.

  • Practices during the summer will occur at the PRIDE coach’s discretion.

  • Practice Fields will be provided by AGSL.

  • Each PRIDE team is permitted to name one Head Coach (Selected by AGSL Board) and one Assistant Coach (approved by the AGSL Board) prior to the start of the PRIDE Tryouts.

  • The league will provide insurance for each team.

  • AGSL will supply PRIDE Head Coaches with team equipment commensurate with that supplied to AGSL House League teams (PRIDE Head Coaches who are also House League Head Coaches will be expected to use their House League issued equipment for PRIDE also).

  • Practice Fields will be provided by AGSL.

If you have additional questions or are interested in coaching a PRIDE team please contact Cary Kinney or Brandon Creech via the AGSL website under the Board of Directors tab.

Cancellation Hotline

If there is bad weather, please contact the Loudoun County Cancellation Hotline.

If you have practice at the batting cages, and Trailside is closed, THE CAGES ARE CLOSED.

The lightning and thunder policy is as follows:

If lightning is seen or thunder is heard from the ball field, the game will be stopped immediately. All coaches and players must leave the field of play and the surrounding area. Play cannot resume until 30 minutes after the last lightning sighting or hearing of thunder. All weather delay time is considered game clock time and counts toward game time limits.

If a game is suspended due to inclement weather, the game will proceed at a later date with the same score, game situation, and time as when the game was stopped.
If a game is canceled or called before it is an official game, the home team Head Coach shall notify the Director of Scheduling within 48 hours. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture based on decision by the Board of Directors.

The home team Head Coach is responsible for rescheduling all make up games with the opposing team as soon as possible. All rescheduled games must be coordinate with our scheduler.
