Pride 10U Announcement

AGSL 10U Parents & Coaches,

I am Chair of the Pride Team Pilot Program.  The AGSL sponsors an extended 10U summer program known as the PRIDE. This program participates in county league play in between the Spring and Fall season with a requirement to play in at least two sanctioned tournaments during the Pride season. Tryouts are required.

This program is intended to provide an intermediate level of play for qualified girls from the AGSL Spring House League. In addition to providing intermediate and some advanced softball skill training, the PRIDE program will produce a cohesive group of players, the better of whom will be ready for moving up to AGSL tournament play the following year. The Pride program is not intended to be a forum for every player, it is targeted toward players who are ready for an elevated level of play.

Participation Requirements

·Be registered on a AGSL House Team.

·Have played a minimum of 2 seasons of organized softball or have an AGSL Head Coach recommendation.

·Commit to an additional practice each week as well as double header and tournament participation.  Tournament participation will be determined by the Head Coach.  It is possible, at certain age groups, that not all players will be able to participate in tournaments because of roster restrictions but instead will be selected for doubleheader participation instead.

·Qualified players must be born in 2006 & 2007 for 10U.

Practices

·PRIDE coaches will conduct 1 additional practice during the AGSL Fall & Spring season.

·Practices will occur at the PRIDE coach’s discretion and will not interfere with any house obligations.

·Practice fields will be provided by AGSL.

If interested please follow up with Coach Patrick Settle   or me at  .

Sincerely,

Cary Kinney

Pride Pilot Program Chair

PRIDE’s MISSION is to challenge players through skills training and practice, with a focus on effort and teamwork.

We Have Spirit, Yes We Do!

The rain may have washed out opening night but that didn’t keep a number of teams from competing for the best team banner/most spirit team prizes!  We received a number of wonderful submission, so many in fact that instead of two winners, we ended up with a 3 way tie!  Congratulations to the 12u Purple Storm, The 10u Onions, and the 6u Thunder Bunnies!  In recognition of your great work, you have all won an ice cream party after the practice or game of your choice!

Thank you again to all the teams that participated, every entry really was well done and showed just how much spirit these girls have for AGSL and Softball!  For a full show of all the wonderful submissions, please click the link below!

The results are in... CONGRATULATIONS!

The results are in and tabulated and we are proud to announce the Team and Player that sold the most fundraiser cards and won our Spring Fundraiser prizes!

For top team, it was a tight race that came down to the last day and the winner is…….the 10U Avengers!!  As a result of their efforts, the 10u Avengers have earned a team ice cream party after the game or practice of their choosing!  Great job Avengers, your support of the league is tremendous!

For top player, again it was a tight battle but in the end the winner is……Megan Rotzler of the 10u Onions!! Way to go Megan! Megan’s efforts in support of her team and the league earned her a gift card for two one hour jumping sessions at Atomic Trampoline!

We wanted to thank everyone for their support of this Fundraiser.  Your efforts help keep our registration fees down, provide scholarships to families going through tough times, purchase new equipment, and improve the overall experience for all of our players!

One final reminder.  If you haven’t turned in your money or unused cards to your coach, please do so as soon as possible. In order to ensure that we can keep running this program we need to make sure we account for all cards that were distributed.  Thank you all again for all your support and let’s keep our fingers crossed for some sun!!!
